Engage Youths On Vacancies Created By Retirement

By Hajiya Hauwa Muhammad Abdullahi (Mrs.)

As Federal Government of Nigeria  increased Salary and Pension of Federal Civil servants, there is need for the government at all levels in the country to fill many of the vacancies created by retired civil servants.

Many of the vacancies created by retired civil servants both at federal and state ministries and agencies are still not filled.

It is really sad and unfortunate to see many youths roaming the streets without job, some of whom have become hopeless as they cannot cater for their daily needs.

Yes, this is no longer news in Nigeria, but my purpose of writing is to make a call and remind the various governments to, at least, fill the vancies created by many civil servants who have retired from service. This, to me, will go a long way in addressing the unemployment challenge in the country.

Governments should also assist those companies that are managing to continue their productions in spite all the difficulties.

I’m also calling on the Media to please continue to speak for the voiceless, especially the civil servants whose salaries have not been paid for months in some states and the pensioners whose gratuities have not been paid for years by the governments.

Hauwa Muhammad Abdullahi wrote in from Rangaza Village, in Kano.
