Chief Imam of Jos, Plateau State, North Central Nigeria, Sheikh Lawal Adam, has died.
He reportedly passed away peacefully at his residence in Jos, on Thursday, at the age of 75 after a brief illness.

Sheikh Lawal Adam was a prominent religious leader in Jos, serving as the Chief Imam for over three decades.

“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Chief Imam. He was a shining example of faith, kindness, and dedication. His passing leaves a great void in our community, but his memory will continue to inspire us,” Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, Chairman, Jos Muslim Council said.
“I am deeply saddened by the news. Sheikh Lawal Adam was a true spiritual leader and a friend to all. His wisdom and guidance will be deeply missed,” Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State said.
The funeral prayer has been held at the Jos Eid-Ground on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at the Jos Muslim Cemetery.
The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
The community comes together to offer condolences to the family and loved ones of Sheikh Lawal Adam.
