Report from Edo State, South-South Nigeria says, the State Police Command has ordered immediate arrest of individuals driving vehicles with tinted glasses in the state.
The Directive is contained in a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday by the Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Moses Yamu.
The State Commissioner of Police, Iwo Nemi, who gave the order also directed the arrest of individuals driving unregistered vehicles, or vehicles with covered plate numbers.
The commissioner said the strategy was meant to curb the rising cases of kidnapping, robbery, and cultism in the state.
While also directing that such vehicles be impounded, he warned that the law would be strictly enforced without exception.
According to him, “”the general public is, by this notice, warned to desist from using such vehicles to avoid being arrested because the law is a respecter of nobody and no one will be spared.”
He further appealed to the people of the state to cooperate with the police in its quest to ensure the safety of lives and property of the general public, especially during this period of the build-up to the election.
