Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh Resigns

Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh, has reportedly submitted his resignation to King Abdullah II on Sunday, as reported by state media.

The resignation follows the parliamentary elections held on September 10, where the opposition Islamic Action Front made significant gains.

This step allows King Abdullah II to appoint a new government that aligns with the newly elected legislature, adhering to Jordan’s constitutional process for a refreshed executive mandate based on electoral outcomes.

The king is expected to either reappoint Khasawneh or select a new prime minister to form the next government.
