Report from Taraba State, North East Nigeria says, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Yorro Branch, has appealed to the State Government for support in the training of its personnel.
Our Correspondent reports that the Commandant of the Vigilante Group, Lawan Baba, made the appeal, on Thursday, during the promotion exercise of 20 officers of the Group.
The 20 officers were promoted to various ranks including Assistant Superintendent of Vigilante I, Assistant Superintendent of Vigilante II, Sergeant, and Corporal.

Addressing the newly decorated officers at the Headquarters in Pantisawa, venue of the promotion exercise, the Commandant, Lawan Baba, congratulated them and urged them to remain committed to discharging their duties ethically.

He warned them against any maltreatment of civilians and other forms of misconduct.
“Let me take this opportunity to applaud the Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, and our Chairperson, Martina Anthony, for their relentless and immense support in providing motorcycles and other essential logistics.
“Security is indispensable. A secured and peaceful environment is paramount for progress and development,” he said.
“I appeal to the Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for continued support, particularly in the training of personnel to enhance seamless and robust operations.
“Without mincing words, we face influx challenges. We need more equipment, modern gadgets, and improved welfare for our gallant officers,” he added.
The promotion ceremony, which is the first-of-its-kind, was attended by numerous dignitaries including the Executive Chairperson of Yorro Local Government, Martina Anthony, represented by her Chief of Staff, Comrade Kabiru M. Kamba; Joseph Kassong Kanoh, Member Representing Yorro in the Taraba State House of Assembly, represented by his Special Assistant, Wale; and Fiddausi Lucy Danwe, among others.
