Lagos State Introduces Social Media Tutorials For WAEC, NECO Candidates

Report from Lagos State, South West Nigeria says, the State Government, has unveiled the EKO Learners’ Support Programme to assist students in preparing for their West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO) assessments.

Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, disclosed the initiative during an event held at the Education Resource Centre in Ojodu, Lagos.

The programme comprises 320 lessons spanning ten subjects, including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Government, History, Literature-in-English, and Yoruba.

These lessons are set to be broadcast on Lagos Television and various social media platforms. Each session, lasting 30 minutes, will run for a duration of 26 weeks and will also be accessible on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and X, allowing students to engage with the content at their convenience, Punch reports.

By leveraging this initiative, students will have the opportunity to engage in continuous learning, revisit lessons at their own pace, and interact with educators and peers online.

While urging students to fully utilise the programme, Alli-Balogun expressed gratitude to educators and stakeholders for their contributions to its successful launch.
