Jigawa State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corp, has flagged off an operation aimed at creating safe monitoring environment and reduce road taffick crashes on the highways.
Tagged “Operation Sauka Lafiya” it is also designed to ensure unhindered travels on all major roads and highways by checking overloading, mixed overloading of persons and animals, over speeding and other critical offences.
The Jigawa State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Aishat Sa’adu, led the operation which will also provide effective traffic management and ensure the enforcement of all traffic laws and regulations.
A statement issued by the Public Education Officer of the Command, Yahaya Ibrahim Yahaya, obtained by Nigerian Kicker says, the proactive measures became necessary to mitigate perceived increase in road traffic crashes in the state.
During the operation, the Command says it will check the use of fake and indiscriminate use of number plates, failure to install speed limit devices, route violation and other life threatening violations.
