Akwa Ibom Elders From Eight Communities Express Support To Police’s  Security Drive

Akwa Ibom State Police Command, has pledged its commitment in fostering community engagement and ensuring peace and security across the state.

The State Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, gave the assurance while receiving the Core Community Elders Forum led by its Chairman, Akpanubong Jehovah Isaac Akpan, in his office.

A statement by the Akwa Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, says the delegation which comprised elders from Eket, Onna, Esit Eket, Ibeno, Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin, Eastern Obolo and Mbo Local Government Areas, paid the visit to formally introduce their organization.

CP Azare reiterated the Command’s dedication to strengthen community policing strategies and work closely with local stakeholders to enhance security across the state.

He also assured the Forum of the Command’s continuos support in addressing security challenges urging them to encourage their communities to be law abiding and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Vice Chairman of the Forum, Chief  Christopher Tom, assured the CP that the group is committed to fostering peace, unity and cooperation among the eight local government areas.
