Ganduje’s Exit: Ali Dalori Takes Over As APC National Chairman

Following the resignation of National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Ali Dalori, has taken over as the Acting National Chairman of the Party.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje reportedly resigned on Friday, June 27, 2025, citing health concerns as his reason for quitting.

However, Nigerian Sketch quoted a source within the APC as saying that “Ganduje was compelled to resign by forces opposed to his leadership due to complaints from various influential party members across the country”

Meanwhile, watchers of politics in Northern Nigeria, especially the youth, link his resignation to a fallout, they believed he had with Vice President Kashim Shettima, few weeks ago.

A senior party official told Nigerian Sketch that Ganduje’s alleged resignation has not been officially documented adding that, the APC Deputy Chairman North, Dalori, would be the natural successor.”

Ali Bukar Dalori was born and brought up in Dalori town of Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, North East Nigeria.

A Kano-based aide to Ganduje said the former Governor has already arrived in the ancient city.

In Kano, there are insinuations that another former Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was poised to ditch his New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) for the APC in a move that many believed may have been hatched since 2023.
