A Coalition of concerned Jigawa State Pensioners, has described the plan by the out-going Jigawa state Exevitive council of the National Union of Pensioners to conduct Local Government branches election as illegal and unconstitutional
A statement jointely signed by comrade Abdullahi Muhammad Bulangu and comrade Habibu Galadi on behalf of the coalition , called on the National Secretariat of NUP to, as a matter of urgency, dissolve the Jigawa state Executive council of the union for over staying and appoints a caretaker committee
The statement said the proposed plan by the out going executives to conduct Local Government branches election was mischief , illegal and unconstitutional for lack of legal and authentic delegates to vote in the election
The statement added that the caretaker committee to be appointed by the NUP Secretariat should be mandated to organize and conduct election at both state and Local Government levels
The coalition appealed to the NUP to act immediatly to save the union in Jigawa state from unnecessary crisis
It also called on Jigawa state Government not to recogonize any election to be conducted by the out going executives ,untill fresh elections are held with the full backing and support of all Jigawa state pensioners in accordance to the provision of the Union’s Constitution
