Oyetola To Engage 50 Lawyers To Contest Osun Governorship Election Result

Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola and candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded Governorship election is contesting the result of the election.
A senior advocate, who is a member of Oyetola’s legal team, Kunle Adegoke, disclosed that the defeated Governor is seeking legal means to upturn the results in his favour adding that 50 lawyers have indicated interest to join the case.
Adegoke , however, said they are still studying the results and building their evidence.
“We are still studying the election results, working on the legal grounds, and building evidence to challenge Adeleke’s declaration as Governor-elect; as we speak, about 50 lawyers have indicated interest to join us.” He said.
Reall that the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke was declared winner of the Osun Governorship election held on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Adeleke of PDP polled 403,371 to defeat Oyetola of the APC who polled 375,027 votes, while Lasun Yusuf of the Labour Party, LP polled 2,729 votes.
