Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension scheme on Monday, 08/12/2025 commenced the disbursment of more than One Billion, eight hundred and fifty six million Naira, as terminal and death benefits to 728 retirees and relatives of deceased civil servants
Addressing a gathering of the beneficiaries at the Pension Board Headquarters in Dutse, the Executive Secretary of the Board Dr Bilyaminu Shittu Aminu said, the amount comprised payment of gratuity, death benefits and death pension balance.
Given the breakdown of the amount , Dr Bilyaminu explained that more than one point five Billion Naira will be paid to 607 retirees while about three hundred million Naira to be paid to relatives of civil servants who died in active service.
The Executive Secretary added that another batch of twenty five retired civil servants who died shortly after retirement will soon be paid to their relatives.
He expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Jigawa State Malam Umar Namadi, for being generous, steadfast and with unwavering sympathy to the welfare of the aged who rendered selfless service to the development of the state while in public service
He said Governor Umar Namadi’s administration has injected billions of Naira into the pension scheme with a view to ensuring uninterupted payment of gratituities and prompt payment of pension monthly.
Dr Bilyaminu advised the beneficiaries to utilise the benefits properly by investing in gainful ventures like agriculture.
Responding, some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the state governtment for the timely disbursment of the benefits which will go along way in improving their living standard as retirees
In another development, Govenor Umar Namadi has approved the appointment of three new Special Advisers to enhance Governance.
A statement signed by the Public Relation Officer, office of the Secretary to the State Government, Isma’il Ibrahim Dutse said those appointed were, Kabiru A Sugungun, National Assembly matters, Ibrahim Ahmed Kwaimawa Industrial Relations and Ado Sani Birnin Kudu Civil Service Matters.
The appointments are with immidiate effect.
