Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahya Bello says 70 to 80 percent of criminals are from the youths.
The Governor bared his mind while addressing Editors during the 17th Annual Conference of the Nigerian Guild of Editors in Abuja.
Governor Hahya Bello who was part of the discussants on the current security challenges facing the country, however, explained that such criminal youths are either deprived by the system where class difference is the order of the day or a product of a government of father and sons and cronies.
He said credible intelligence helped his government to neutralise activities of insurgents in Kogi state where, according to him, was a almost becoming their haven.
The Governor said, although Kogi is yet 💯 percent secured but have significantly brought peace to the state, adding that his government has been able to create leaders out of those sent to correctional house.
He observed that openess and transparency was necessary to get the support of the people pointing out that doing old things can never bring new and enduring results.
