A former Minister of Education and Governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, has advised Nigerian electorates against judging the acceptability and popularity of Candidates by the crowd at Rally.

Shekarau, who is the current Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial Zone, gave the advice in Kano on Tuesday at a Media Interactive Session held in the State Capital.
The former Governor, who is a Mathematician, gave mathematical analysis about crowd gathered by politicians at a Rally saying such crowd at election Rallies do not represent reality.
“Don’t be carried away by crowd and judge the popularity of a candidate by it.
“We have seen many candidates in the past polling crowd but at the end of the day they were defeated at the polls,” he said.
Shekarau said the Media Interactive Session was organized to showcase the score-card of his activities at the 9th Assembly which has been documented in a book titled, “Shekarau, Senator Representing Kano Central Senatorial Zone (2019 – 2023) Exemplary Leadership and Effective Representation in the 9th Senate.”
The 191-Page-Book written by his Media Coordinator, Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule, celebrates the achievements of Shekarau at his constituency during the period under review.
The Book showed how Shekarau impacted on every Local Government Area in his constituency by carrying out needful projects at Tarauni LGA, Dala LGA, Warawa LGA, Madobi LGA, Kano Municipoal LGA, Dawakin Kudu LGA, Minjibir LGA, Gezawa LGA, Gwale LGA, Fagge LGA, Kumbotso LGA, Kura LGA as well as giving empowerment grants.
On the 2023 Presidential Election coming up on Saturday, Shekarau briefed the Media about the Presidential Candidate of his Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
“PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have five major priority areas to tackle when elected President come February 25th 2023.
“The priorities are Unity of the country, adequate security of lives and property of citizens, structure of governance, education and economy,” he said.
Senator Shekarau said PDP, was ready for the elections and its members do not clash with other parties during campaigns.
“PDP has candidates in all positions being contested across the country.
“The Leadership of the Party is working tirelessly to ensure a hitch-free election.
“The Police should not allow any breakdown of law and order,” he advised.
Members of the Leadership of the Party who attended the Media interactive session were Ambassador Aminu Wali, a one-time Military Administrator of Niger State, Col. Habibu Shuaibu(Rtrd) and the Kano State Governorship Candidate of the PDP, Sadiq Wali.
