Federal Road Safety Corp is to prosecute the two reckless drivers involved in the fatal crashes in Liba and Bunza areas of Kebbi State with immediate effect.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Assistant Corps Marshal, Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem.
The Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, who gave the directive, said the measure is designed to protect the rights of the passengers and also serve as a deterrent to others.
A total of thirty five persons died while about thirty eight others sustained various degrees of injuries in the two crashes which occurred on the 26th and 27th of March 2023.
The Corps Marshal also decried the continues and indiscriminate violation of legal speed limit as well as other established traffic regulations by some drivers leading to wanton destruction of lives and properties on the highways.
He therefore directed Commanding Officers to begin with immediate effect aggressive clampdown on violators nationwide.
