Nigerian President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, as a man of his conviction and integrity.
The President-elect spoke on Wednesday while commissioning the Rumuokwuta/Rumuola flyover in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, South-South Nigeria.
He said, Wike’s insistence that the Presidency must return to the Southern party of the country was part of the factors that gave him victory in the 2023 Presidential Election.
He thanked the Governor for contributing to his victory at the poll.
Tinubu recalled that “Wike abandoned his personal interest for the interest of the nation and that despite the rumours and speculations peddled against him during the electioneering season, Wike stood by his conviction.”
“Thank you for your contribution to my victory. I couldn’t have done this without some structural support. In you, I see a man of principle.
“Wike took a good stand that the Presidency must return to the South and he had the courage to stand by his conviction not minding those against him,” Tinubu said.
