Group Asks Tinubu Not To Appoint Three Former Northern Governors

A group known as, Voice of Northern Youths Patriots, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to consider three former state governors from Northern region as his Ministers.

The three former Governors are Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State and Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state.

Addressing a News Conference at the Kano NUJ Press Centre, North West Nigeria, the leader of the group, Alhaji Mustapha Mai royal, said inclusion of the three former governors in his cabinet is a dent to the Administration.

Mai royal explained that the three former governors “are currently facing various allegations of corruption which needs to be investigated.”

When reminded that no court of jurisdiction has convicted the three former governors on the allegations, the group emphasized that “the move by the governors to stop their being tried, clearly indicates that they are guilty of the alleged charges.”

Our Correspondent reports that the group also hinted that it’s planning to take the former governors to court to face the charges of the allegations against them.

It therefore called on the President to make good his promise to the nation by appointing only those who will not disappoint and bring his Administration to ridicule.
