Report from Asa Local Government Area of Kwara state says, a tea seller popularly known as Mai Shai and a customer have been killed by thunder strike.
The incident reportedly occurred during a heavy downpour at Onigbegiri Junction, Eyenkorin in the Local Government, Daily Trust reports.
An eyewitness, Mojeed Onigbegiri, said, “The victims died instantly when the thunder struck around 6.30pm on Thursday.”
Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, whi confirmed the incident on Friday said, “The body of the tea seller has been released to the family for burial while the family of the other victim said they need to perform some rites before they bury him.”
