Report from Ugbekpe Ekperi in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo state, South-South Nigeria says, a 21-year-old man Salami Mustapha, has killed his wife Esther, over food.
Eye witness told our Correspondent that the incident occurred on Wednesday, 30th of August, 2023 when Mustapha accused his wife of serving him food late.
His wife, Esther reportedly explained to him to exercise patience for the food to be ready.
According to the eye witness accounts the woman, who was two months pregnant, had hardly explained the cause of the delay in serving the food, when her husband allegedly picked one of the firewood she was using to cook the food and hit her head leading to her death instantly.
The deceased, who hails from Agenebode, Wepa Wano, Etsako West Local Government Area of the State is said to be two years old in the marriage with Salami Mustapha.
Meanwhile, the woman’s corpse is said to have been deposited in the mortuary at General Hospital Fugar, in Etsako Central Local Government Area while her husband is presently with the Police in Benin, the Edo State Capital.
