Plateau Killings: IGP Visits Jos, Orders Deployment Of Security Operatives

Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has visited Jos, the capital of Plateau State, North Central Nigeria, on Friday over the  recent attacks in the state by suspected bandits.

Our correspondent reports that Egbetokun met with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and other stakeholders during the visit.

Recall that over 150 people were killed in 17 communities in the Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs of the state in attacks that began on Christmas Eve.

Many houses were destroyed, and many residents were displaced as a result of the violence.

After the incidents, the federal government promised to provide justice for the affected communities and victims.
