Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, on Thursday honoured a total number 123 staff from different Faculties, Centres and Units for their outstanding performance.
Reacting to the gesture, a beneficiary of the Award, who is also the Head of Department of Mass Communication of the institution, Dr Adama Adamu says, she was poised to do “more, more and more” so as to champion and advance the course of the Department of Mass Communication.
She bared her mind through WhatsApp voice message to our Editor-in-Cheif, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Thursday, shortly after the Award Ceremony.

Dr. Adamu, who expressed joy over the Award said, it was made possible by Allah and the collective efforts of the members of staff of the Department of Mass Communication and the Faculty of Social Sciences at large.
“I received two Awards even though I was not physically present. My colleagues and members of the Department received the Awards on my behalf.
“I got the Award of best performing HOD from Faculty of Social Sciences and Grand Fellow of the Year from the same Faculty of Social Sciences,” she said.
Dr. Adamu, apparently elated said, she has nothing more than to give glory to God.
“Well, what I would say about this Award is that, first of all, I am most grateful to Allah for making it possible for me to witness this day. This is not to say that the Awards were solely based on my efforts.
“So, as a result of this, I want to sincerely appreciate the efforts of members of staff of the Mass Communication Department and Faculty of social sciences at large for making it possible to achieve this greatness.
“I am equally indebted and very much grateful to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria under the able leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala for coming up with this initiative to reward good, to reward hard work and to reward resilience,” she added.
The Awardee further expressed gratitude saying, “we are so grateful and I personally feel very motivated and by the grace of Allah, I look forward to doing more, more and more so as to champion and advance the course of the Department of Mass Communication, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Faculty of social sciences, the University in general and our nation at large. Thank you.”
