Kano State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Abdulsamad Abdu Zango mni, says all is now set for the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in the state.
He gave the assurance at an Interactive Forum with working Journalists in the state.
Abdulsamad Zango said the non sensitive materials for the 2023 general elections have since been deployed to the forty four local government areas of the state.
In addition, he said, the supervisory officials for the elections have since been trained while that of the adhoc staff is now in progress.
On the distribution of sensitive materials to all the nook and corners of the state, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, said adequate arrangements have been made to ensure that the materials got to their destinations on time.
He also hinted that effective and efficient security arrangement is well on ground to man the eleven thousand, two hundred and twelve polling units in the state.
“I will work with every segment of the society for the success of the elections in Kano State”, he said.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner said INEC is determined to make the process of elections seamless and easy for the people.
To the working Journalists in the state, Ambassador Abdulsamad Zango, commended them for their support to the commission so far.
He however urged them to always put the interest of the nation first in their reportage and to avoid acts capable of jeopardizing the democratic process.
He said the doors of the commission will remain open for the Journalists during and after the elections.
Head of the Public Relations Department of the Commission, Ahmad Adam Maulud, said thirty one media organisations have been accredited for the conduct of the elections in Kano State.
Chairman Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, pledged the commitment of Journalists to ensure the success of the elections in the state.
Convener of the Interactive Forum, Abdulgafar Oladimeji, said it was organized as part of efforts to sensitize Journalists on the conduct of the elections for a hitch free exercise.
