American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, Adamawa State, North-East Nigeria will begin UNICEF Master in Communication for Social Behaviour Change in September, 2023.
A release issued by the University’s Executive Director, Communications, Daniel Okereke and obtained by Nigerian Kicker says, the University has received the National Universities Commission’s (NUC) approval to offer a Master of Science Degree in Communication for Social and Behavior Change.
The Master’s Programme, which is developed and will be run in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), begins in the fall (September) semester.
“AUN also received NUC’s approval to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in a Hybrid Mode, allowing candidates to take full advantage of AUN’s advanced technological support and learning facilities to further their Academic and Professional Careers,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the NUC also approved AUN to roll out M.Sc. and Ph.D. Degree Programmes in Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD), M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Petroleum Chemistry, and M.A. in English Language and Literature.
It added that all the newly approved Graduate School Programmes will begin in the Fall 2023 semester.
The statement further explained that the NUC’s approvals were conveyed in a letter to the President of the University dated March 3, 2023, and signed by Dr. N.B. Saliu, Director of Academic Planning, for the Executive Secretary.
Interim President of the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Professor Attahir Yusuf, described the new approvals as an affirmation of the NUC’s confidence in AUN’s integrity.
AUN recently received the NUC’s approval to introduce B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degree Programmes in Data Science and Analytics which it began offering in the 2021/2022 Academic Session.
These new Programmes are in addition to Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Information Systems, which the University offers at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, Post-Graduate Diploma, and Professional levels.
The NUC also approved for AUN to offer a Hybrid option for existing Postgraduate Professional Master in Information and Communication Science (MCIS) and Master in Telecoms and Wireless Technologies (MTWT). This will allow candidates to study for any of these Professional Master’s Programmes in a regular or Hybrid mode.
The American University of Nigeria already offers Masters, Post-Graduate Diplomas and Doctorate Degrees in Business Administration.
The newly approved Master of Business Administration (MBA) will excite working Professionals in the urban centers who seek to obtain more knowledge from AUN’s globally-themed School of Business & Entrepreneurship.
In addition, AUN offers Bachelor’s Degrees in Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Systems with concentrations in A.I. and Machine Learning, Algorithms and Complexity, Information Security and Assurance, and Software Applications Development.
The AUN Communications & Multimedia Design Programme at the Bachelor’s Degree level specializes in Public Relations & Advertising, Journalism, Multimedia Design, and Radio/Television/Radio.
The Petroleum Chemistry Programme offers concentrations in Oil & Gas Chemistry and Petrochemical & Polymer Science.
