Department of Opthalmology of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, North-West Nigeria is seeks to collaborate with media within and outside Kano state in commemorating this year’s World Glaucoma Week.
A statement by the Deputy Director, Public Relations of the Hospital, Hauwa Mohammed Abdullahi quotes the Chairperson of Public Eye Health Unit of the hospital saying that the “Global Health Community has set aside one week between Sunday 12-18 March 2023 to create awareness on Glaucoma.”
According to the statement, the Department of Opthalmology of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital is, therefore, calling on all the media as part of their corporate social responsibility to join hands with them in reaching out to the public on this enlightenment drive.
The statement described the theme of this year World Glaucoma Week: “The World is Bright, Save your Sight,” as a good concept for public awareness.
The statement further explained that a team of Opthalmic Specialists have been constituted in the Department for media Correspondents wishing to create awareness on the Glaucoma within the week.
