Amotekun Arrests Native Doctor, 2 Others In Osun For Exhuming Corpses


Report from Osun State, South West Nigeria says, operatives of Amotekun in Iwo town, Osun State have arrested a 43-year-old automobile mechanic, a driver, 56 and a native doctor for allegedly visiting graves and exhuming corpses.

They also allegedly removed body parts which they sell for money making rituals.

Spokesperson of the Amotekun Corps in Osun State, Adeniyi Brown, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Osogbo, the state capital.

According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended following intelligence received of their despicable acts.

The corps spokesman said that when interrogated, the suspects made confessional statements that they exhume corpses from graves and sell the body parts for money making rituals.

He said that the Amotekun Commander in the Osun state, retired Brig.-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, had directed that the suspects be transferred to the police for further investigation and prosecution. – NAN
