Armed bandits have reportedly launched a violent attack on Yalwa community in Masari District of Guri Local Government Area, Jigawa State, on Sunday morning, abducting several residents and setting parts of the community ablaze, security expert Bakatsine reported on his X platform.
According to Bakatsine security forces responded to the attack engaging the assailants and eventually forcing them to flee the area. The incident comes amid growing security concerns in the Northwest.

According to Daily Post, Bakatsine raised alarms over a possible escalation in regional insecurity, questioning whether Jigawa is now entering a more dangerous phase of banditry.
“With Jigawa state now coming under pressure after earlier flare-ups in Kano State, are we seeing a dangerous new phase in the Northwest’s insecurity?,” he queried.
