Bayero University, Kano, North West Nigeria, has announced the outstanding results of the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise conducted in October/November 2024.
In a statement obtained by Nigerian Kicker, the Registrar, Bayero University, Kano, Haruna Aliyu says, a total of 53 academic programmes across various faculties were evaluated.
“We are proud to report that all the programmes received full or accredited status, confirming the University’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.
“This comprehensive accreditation covers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Administration, Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Computing, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Social Sciences,” he said.

A Resounding Testimony of Quality
Aliyu said, the outcome of the rigorous accreditation exercise reflects the University’s sustained investment in faculty development, infrastructure, curriculum improvement, and research advancement.
He added that It was a validation of the institution’s strategy to position Bayero University, Kano as a premier institution of higher learning in Nigeria and beyond.
Implications for the University and the Nation
According to Aliyu, the full accreditation status granted to the 54 programmes was valid for five years adding that it guarantees that students admitted into the programmes are enrolled in NUC-approved and quality-assured curricula, while their certificates are recognized for employment, further studies, and national service.
He said the University appreciates the NUC for its diligent evaluation and support.
