‘Begging, Extortion At Nigerian International Airports’ – Aviation Minister Raises Alarm

Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, on Sunday, expressed concerns over reports of alleged “begging and extortion going on at International airports in the country by some unscrupulous individuals.”

In a post on his official X handle, the Minister lamented that the activities of staff begging and extorting travellers have been bringing a bad image to the nation.

According to Daily Post, the Minister claimed that “his cell phone beeps every minute with messages from concerned citizens who continue to complain about the matter.”

The Minister further clarified that “most of the agencies involved in this menace are not under the control of the Aviation Ministry, though they are stationed at our airports.”

“However, I have been working closely with other Ministers, arms of government and agencies who are responsible for these agencies and a solution is in sight soon”, he said.
