Believing in yourself is the first secret of moving on. If you don’t believe in yourself, you are already a failure. There are people whose duty is to discourage others from achieving their aims. Encouragement is not in their Dictionary because what they love to see in you is failure. Therefore, don’t seek people’s approval of your dream. Never allow the fire in you go out, because it is what attracts people to you. When we put our efforts in the hands of God, we leave the results for Him. Always remember that without commitment, you will never start and if you start without consistency, you will never finish. A friend and an Educationist went down memory lane the other day with a reminder in line with this submission thus: “Mary Slessor, (1848 – 1915) an 18-year-old girl, left Scotland to Africa, precisely Nigeria (Calabar). She fought relentlessly against the culture of killing Twins children. Mary made a name for herself through cheer determination and fortitude. Today, she has a name and photograph in the Currency of Scotland. She is the first Woman depicted on a Scottish Banknote. Back of the Currency note contains scenes from her work in Calabar. Though, she died many years ago, but her contributions towards the preservation of humanity lingers.”
