The Secretary-General, JNI, Kaduna, Dr. Khalid Aliyu Abubakar, has observed that most Muslims are distancing themselves from the Holy Quran instead of being bounded with it according to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The Islamic Scholar who led prayers this Friday at Fibre Mosque in Jos the Plateau state capital, noted that today, the Quran is kept on the right hand while many Muslims converged on the left hand thereby creating a gulf between them and the Holy book.
Sheikh Khalid Abubakar, who spoke on the theme, “Objectives of Fasting,” explained that the Holy month of Ramadan is a period that believers are expected to be more closer to the Holy Quran by reading it diligently with understanding of the message.
He said the understanding of the Holy Quran will make believers behave positively, without which all efforts are in vain.
While describing Islam as a simple religion, Sheikh Khalid said Allah does not impose irredeemable hardship on His servants.
He called on Muslims to always obey Allah and make use of His words pointing out that there is nothing worth worship except Allah who is most merciful.
Sheikh Khalid Abubakar prayed Allah against kidnappings and poverty in the country.
