Asiwaju Bola AhmedTinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been returned winner of the 2023 Presidential elections in Nigeria.
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission and Returning Officer of the Presidential elections, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, made the announcement after the collation of the results by 4am Wednesday in Abuja.
The INEC Chairman disclosed that APC candidate won 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who secured 6,984,520 votes.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party got 6,101,533 while The New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP Presidential candidate, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso got 1,496,687 votes.
The certificate of return to the President-elect and the Vice Presidential candidate are to be issued by INEC at 3pm Wednesday.
