Churches, Hotels Reportedly Shutdown In Lagos For Violating Environmental Laws

Report from Lagos State, South West Nigeria says, the State Government has shutdown several businesses and religious institutions in contravention of the state environmental law.

The establishments, reportedly sealed, include, Rockslide Gospel Church, Unique Caesar & Bar, Recycling Company, New Yorker Hotel, Flex Bar & Spa Hotel, Mountain of Faith International Gospel, Jesus International Christian Church, VLC Donald Restaurant & Event Centre, Zion Believers Church, and VLC Donald Hotel.

The state government, following an operation in the Ojo Local Government Area by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency sealed the affected establishments.

The facilities, according to the agency, “violated the state’s strict environmental standards.”

The General Manager of LASEPA, Babatunde Ajayi, emphasised the agency’s commitment to upholding environmental standards across the state.

“We will not hesitate to take necessary actions against any establishment that fails to comply with the state’s environmental regulations, and we urge all businesses to take responsibility for their environmental impact and work with the state government to create a better future for Lagos,” Ajayi stated.

He reaffirmed LASEPA’s dedication to ensuring a clean and safe environment for all Lagosians, warning that the agency will persist in monitoring compliance and taking firm action against any establishments that violate the law.
