Newly appointed Kano State Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services, retired Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar, has Called for a collaboration with all security agencies toward tackling insecurity challenges in the state.
The commissioner made the call shortly after assuming duty at the Headquarters of the state Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services along Maiduguri road, in Kano metropolis.
Umar, maintained that though security issue was not new to him, but emphasized the need for more hands to be on deck for better result.
“We will deepen collaboration with Traditional rulers, Religious leaders, Security agencies, Community stakeholders, and Civil society in building resilient local security structures,” he added.
The commissioner noted how sensitive the task before him, adding that security is the foundation of all progress, and pledged to work with integrity and diligence to safeguard the lives and property of the general public.
He then commended the Executive Governor of Kano state Abba Kabiru Yusuf for finding him worthy for the position of Commissioner and member of the state executive Council.
He promised to remain committed to promoting justice, equity, discipline and the upliftment of common man.
Earlier, welcoming the Commissioner on behalf of the management of the Ministry, the Permanent Secretary, Alh Dan’asabe Yahya, pledged unwavering support to the Commissioner to enable him discharge his mandate.
Yahya prayed for Allah’s guidance to the new Commissioner to make him succeed.
A statement by the Director Public Relations and Enlightenment of the Ministry, Muhammad Dahir Idris says, the New Commissioner was rousingly welcomed by staff and management.
