As the inauguration of the Nigerian President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, draws nearer, Kano Chapter of APC National Supporters Centre, has called on all stakeholders to consider Senator Barau Jibirin as the next Senate President of the 10th Senate.
This was contained in a Statement issued by the Kano State Coordinator of the Group, Aliyu A. Aliyu, who is also SSA to Kano State Governor on Emirates Council and the Organising Secretary of the Group, Hashim Abubakar Fagge.
In the statement, the Group argued that Senator Barau Jibirin’s “widespread acceptance, pragmatic leadership skills have made him the best to be considered as the next Senate President.”
“His pedigree showed that he has performed creditably as Chairman Senate Committee on Appropriation.
“North West support for APC especially Kano produced about two million votes in 2015, over a million votes in 2019 and five hundred and thirteen thousand votes in 2023. These need to be considered by the Party’s Leadership in the incoming Administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” they argued.
The Group, therefore, advised APC and the President-elect not to neglect Kano to avoid jeopardising the Party’s chances in the future.
It also called on Senators to support Barau Jibirin in his efforts to bring about purposeful Leadership.
“The Group will organize a peaceful two million man march in support of Barau Jibirin in Kano state as he is the only Candidate that win thirteen local Governments of his Senatorial Zone,” the Group hinted.
