Kano State Commissioner of Education, Umar Haruna Doguwa says, dedication, punctuality and examplary service by Secondary and Primary Schools In Kano state will be rewarded.
The Commissioner stated this when he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to some Schools in Gaya, Wudil, Dawakin Kudu and Tarauni Local Government Areas of the State.
A statement by the Director Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Education Kano, Aliyu Yusuf said, During the inspection, Doguwa commended two Secondary and a Primary Schools in the state saying they will be given letters of commendation.
The Schools are, GSS Wudil, Wudil Model Primary School and GGSS Yar’Gaya.
According to the Commissioner, those that were found wanting include Maitama Sule Science College Gaya, GTC Gaya, Zonal Education Directorate (KSSSMB) Gaya, LEA, Gaya and GSS Tarauni “which will also receive their own kind of letters.”
“Today being a resumption day from Eid-el-Kabir Sallah break for our students and pupils, I decided to embark on an unscheduled visit to see for my self the level of compliance for both the Teachers and the Students.
“Alhamdulillah, I have seen some Schools with impressive turn out that deserves commendation and I also see those with unimpressive turn out that need to be cautioned” the Commissioner observed. .
Doguwa said, he would continue to pay such visit to other schools so as to “wake them up from their slumber” and make them to realize that the sector has gotten new leadership that is ready to restore the lost glory of education in the state.
He therefore, appealed to Schools Administrators to work with dedication, selflessness and punctuality so that the system will be supported and produce quality product that will be good Ambassadors of the State
