The Secretary-General, Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Dr. Khalid Aliyu Abubakar, says proper training of children in the way of Allah is a panacea for the development of the family and the society in general.
He was giving sermon shortly before he led today’s Jumaat prayers at Fibre Mosque, Jos, the Plateau State Capital.
Dr. Khalid Abubakar, whose sermon dwelt on the importance of Muharram ( Islamic calendar) which begins today, noted that good education is inevitable for the freedom of the people from darkness.
“Make sure you guide your
children always and pray
Allah to help you.” He
admonished.
The JNI Secretary-General who said the Islamic Calendar ranks second to the month of Ramadan urged believers to respect it because of the goodies that go with it.
“It was the month of Muharram
that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
migrated from Makkah to Medina
during which Allah granted him
victory over his enemies.” He
said.
Dr. Khalid Abubakar also told the worshippers that it was during the same
month of Muharram that Allah debased the gigantic power of wickedness and iniquities perpetrated by Pharaoh and gave Moses victory over him.
He therefore advised Muslims to fast in this month of Muharram especially 9th and 10th, if they can, to earn the reward of Allah over their troubles, adding that it was the grace of Allah that they witness yet another Muharram which he said was full of success and outstanding history.
While praying for peace in the country, the cleric urged Muslims to be steadfast in the fear and worship of Allah, pointing out that whoever fears Allah and worship Him, Allah will show them mercy while those who transgress with impunity will blame themselves here and hereafter.
He emphasized and prescribed midnight prayers for all believers.
