Eid-Maulud Marked With Fanfare In Plateau State

Report from Plateau State, North Central Nigeria says, the State government joined millions of Muslims across the world and Plateau State in particular to celebrate the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh), known as Maulud Nabiyu.

Our Correspondent reports that the celebration, which took place at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, the state capital, was marked with attention-grabbing displays such as speeches, parades and ceremonies.

It was attended by thousands of Muslims across the state and beyond.

The event featured series of activities, including prayers, recitation of the Quran, and lectures on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, represented by the state Commissioner of Water Resources and Energy Bashir Lawandi Datti, urged Muslims to emulate the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad, such as compassion, justice, and forgiveness. He also called for peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths in the state.

The celebration was also attended by a number of dignitaries, including the Emir of Wase Alh Muhammad Sambo, Chief Imam of plateau state Sheikh Ghazali Ismail Adam and his Deputy, Sharif Nasiru Falaki as well as other respectful Leaders

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Imam of Plateau State, Sheikh Ghazali Ismail Adam said, “we gather to celebrate the birthday of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Let us remember his teachings of love, compassion, and forgiveness.

“As we mark this special day, let us strive to emulate the Prophet’s virtues in our daily lives. Let us be kind to one another, and work towards building a harmonious society.

“We pray for peace and unity in our communities, and for the guidance of our leaders. We also remember the less privileged, help them and pray for their well-being.

“The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) taught us the importance of knowledge, humility, and service to humanity. Let us embody these values and become beacons of hope and light in our world.

“As we celebrate Maulud, let us renew our commitment to our faith and to one another. May Allah bless us and guide us on the right path,” he reminded the gathering.

Chairman, organizing committee of the occasion, Mallan Nazif Ahmad expressed gratitude to the state government for its support in making the celebration a success.

Highlight of the celebration was the procession, which took participants through major streets in Jos metropolis, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Muslim community in the state.
