Emir of Gaya Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya has approved the conferment of a traditional title of Sarkin Kudun Gaya on the Vice Chancellor Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil, Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai.
This is contained in a statement obtained by Nigerian Kicker issued, on Wednesday, by Deputy Registrar and Head of Information and Public Relations Unit of the University, Malam Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi.
According to the letter of appointment with reference number MLG/INS/LGD/166/4 dated 13th June, 2025 and signed by Wamban Gaya and Senior Councillor (Admin.) Gaya Emirate Council, Alhaji Mansur Ibrahim Gaya, the appointment followed the state government’s approval.
“This appointment is based on your track records of service, dedication and personal attributes which have been displayed by you over the years.
“Thus it is hoped that you will exhibit these sterling qualities in discharging your assignments, contributing to the betterment and advancement of Gaya Emirate Council and the state in general”, the letter reads in part.
Meanwhile, the Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Nouruddeen Bashir Umar, on behalf of the Chancellor Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Council Justice Abdu Aboki (rtd), members of Council, Management, University Senate, Staff and Students of the University rejoices with what he described as a well-deserved appointment.
The statement said date of the turbaning ceremony of the new Sarkin Kudu, who is currently in Makka, Saudi Arabia on a pilgrimage, would be communicated by His Royal Highness the Emir of Gaya Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya in due course.
