Emir Of Gaya Hails Government’s Intention To Re-Open Boarding Schools

Emir of Gaya, Alh. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, has hailed the intention of Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf Administration’s intention to reopen the state boarding schools closed by the immediate past administration.

A statement by the Information Officer of the area, Aminu Ahmed Rano, said the Emir was speaking when he received Gaya local government Student Association in his Palace.

The Emir commended the state government for setting up a committee for re-opening of the closed boarding schools in the state.

Emir Abdulkadir, who spoke at length on the importance of acquiring education, expressed appreciation for the steps the present administration is taking to revive the sector.

He, however, expressed concern over the high increase of tertiary institutions’ fees, which he said, would scrawl down the standard of education across the nation.

Abdulkadir appealed to the authority concern to look into the issue and ensure that students are giving the needed support.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the association, Naziru Usama said they were at the palace to introduce the newly elected exco of the union and intimate the Emir about the activities of the association.

Usama commended the Emir for his contributions towards the development of the Emirate and the state in general.
