Father, Son Drown In Kano Well

Report from Kano says, a 60-year-old man, Malam Bala and his 35-year-old son, Sunusi Bala have drowned in a Well.

Spokesman, Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, disclosed this to newsmen in Kano.

In a statement, obtained by Nigerian Kicker, Abdullahi said, both Father and son drowned on Tuesday in Sabon Garin Bauchi, in Wudil Local Government Area of the State, while draining water from the Well.

The statement said an emergency call was made to the Wudil Fire Service Station at about 11:30 a.m by one Isma’ila Idris.

“A father and his son were called to drain a well, they had successfully drained it.

”But, the son went back into the well to clear it when he was trapped and suffocated.

“His father went after him to rescue him, when he also got trapped and suffocated due to the lack of oxygen inside the well”, the statement added.

According to the statement, the victims were brought out of the well unconscious and later confirmed dead.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the victims have been reportedly handed over to Insp. Felix Gowok of Wudil Model Police Station.
