The 2023 Population and Housing Census scheduled for the 3rd to the 7th of May this year has been postponed.
President Muhammad Buhari gave the approval for the postponement after a meeting with some members of the Federal executive council with Chairman of the National Population Commission at the Presidential Villa on Friday.
The postponement is contained in a statement issued by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
The new date for the exercise is now to be determined by the incoming administration.
The President therefore directed the Commission to sustain the gains already recorded and provide the basis for the incoming administration to consolidate on the achievements
