Dr Abdulgafar Oladimeji, has urged media practitioners in Kano State to brace up and get their place in the committee of Sports Journalism in the country and the world at large.
Oladimeji gave the charge, on Thursday in Kano, while addressing participants at a one-day Sports stakeholders meeting organized by Sahel Sports News in collaboration with the Kano state Library Board powered by Fortress Centre for Human Rights and peace Initiative Network.

He said the World Cup is next year 2026 with a lot of opportunities.
“We need to organize ourselves to be able to benefit from the World Cup.
“This meeting is to identify those who are serious to be involved,” he said.
Oladimeji observed that Kano population is enough to produce 2 million sports enthusiasts as supporters if “we are ready.”
He encouraged participants not to shy away from their responsibility of sports reportage pointing out that drawing backwards would not help sports development in Kano.
