Fityanul Islam Asks Nigerians To Stop Protests, Pray

Fityanul Islam of Nigeria has commiserated with families that lost their loved ones in the violence that followed the Endbadgovernance nationwide protests.

In a statement issued on Friday, obtained by Nigerian Kicker, the President, Fityanul Islam of Nigeria, Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Arab Abuldfathi and DG Media & Publicity, Ustaz Sani Ibn Salihu say “the time has come to tell ourselves the truth about our current situation in Nigeria with the nationwide protests entering its 9th Day.”

“It is regrettable that what we feared when we voiced our opposition to the protest even before it actually started is what actually happened and even worse considering the wanton destruction of of life and property that accompanied the protests.

“Be that as it may, Fityanul Islam of Nigeria firstly commiserates with all the families that lost loved ones in the violence. May such ugly incident never occur again in our beloved country, Nigeria .We hereby reiterate our stand that Sincere Prayers is the best way out of the present situation.

“Fityanul Islam of Nigeria is therefore urging the entire Muslim Ummah in Nigeria to join its members in concluding the Intercessory Recitation of  the Glorious Qur’an to surpass the million times we earlier advocated from today Friday continuously till complete peace is restored in our country.

“If we are to draw a lesson from the level of destruction experienced on the heels of the protests, it behoves Government at all levels to concede that more that we suggested earlier, all policies bringing hardship on the people must not merely be reviewed but jettisoned immediately. For all those in position of authority, let them know that time to embrace people friendly policies is now,” it said.

The religious body, therefore, urged Government at all levels to facilitate Nation-wide prayers for recovery of Nigeria, as “it remains the time tested and trusted means of getting ourselves out of these trials and tribulations. Certainly Allah’s Promise to bring succour after hardship shall come to pass. We Shall continue to pray for Allah’s Merciful Intervention in our nation’s, challenges.”
