Fityanul Islam Distances Itself From 10-Day Planned Protest

Fityanul Islam of Nigeria has distanced itself from any planned 10-day protest against bad governance in Nigeria from 1st-10th August 2024.

In a signed statement, obtained by Nigerian Kicker, the President of the organization, Sheikh Muhammad Arabi Abdulfathi and Director-General (Media and Publicity), Ustaz Sami Salihu said, such mass action “is an ill wind that will not blow any good to the nation.”

According to the Islamic Body, “such mass actions in our country Nigeria are easily infiltrated and manipulated by some unpatriotic elements to unleash mayhem that could lead to a total breakdown of Law and Order.”

“We have not yet, as a nation, fully recovered from the traumatic effects of the  End -Sars Protests. It is, therefore, unthinkable for us to support another of such Mass protests.

“Fityanul Islam of Nigeria, therefore, calls on all Muslims in Nigeria not to join such protest. Instead Muslims should use the period for intensive Fasting and Prayers seeking for Allah’s Intervention in all our Mosques through out the Federation.

“Let us recite the Glorious Qur’an a million times within the ten days and engage in countless Istighfar(Seeking for Allah’s Forgiveness). Prayer has been the time tested solution to our individual and societal challenges. As Muslims we know such protests that can go wrong at any level have never been and can never be the way out of our myriad of problems.

“Fityanul Islam of Nigeria also  rejects the attempt to attribute the current challenges facing the nation to the Muslim -Muslim Ticket on which the governing party was voted. That all the other tickets tried before now could not be absolved from from action or inaction that led to the present challenges, shows that Muslim -Muslim Ticket could never have been the cause of today’s challenges.

“Nigerian youth must therefore resist every attempt to manipulate their emotions using the current hardship as a pretext to destroy our country.

“We should rather pray that Allah’s Compassion Take Over the policies and programmes being introduced by Government as solutions.

“The Government should, on its part, strategically review all the policies, particularly those inducing great hardship on the lives of Nigerians. Our Almighty Creator and Sustainer, Allah Never Sleeps nor does He abandon the sincere supplications of His Servants.

“We Pray for Allah’s Merciful Intervention in our nation’s challenges,” the statement said.
