Former Director General of National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC), Dr Danladi Nasir Bako says, the curriculum of the Department of Mass Communication, Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, is in tandem with NBC directives on Broadcast Journalism to Universities.
Bako, who is a founding father of the Department of Mass Communication stated this during a courtesy visit to the office of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Bashir Garba.
The veteran broadcaster who’s is also a Senior Lecturer says, the Department which began during the 2019/2020 Academic Session, has made tremendous improvement, as he facilitated the approval of a Campus Radio (89.7) which is transmitting live and this has exposed students to the practical aspects of Broadcast Journalism.
Dr Bako, who is also the Kogunan Sokoto, stressed that the Department needs a bigger structure and well equipped Libraries to be in tune with 21st century digital learning.
He commended the Vice Chancellor for his foresight and vision for the University and prayed Allah to grant him a successful tenure in office.
