Am calling the attention of Agric-Business men and Farmers in Nigeria, to dive into ginger farming and boost Export.
Starting ginger export business can be a rewarding and profitable venture we shouldn’t joke with.
Yeah, we are talking about earning billions. Honestly speaking Nigeria is blessed. Do you know that Nigeria is the second-largest producer of Ginger in the world as proven by research? This means, we have been joking and missing business opportunity.
The global ginger market is worth $3 billion, but Nigeria only earns a small fraction of that amount, this is so crazy. We need to wake up. I hope our business men and women are reading this tips. Oh Yes!
In the second quarter of 2023, Nigeria earned N10 billion from Ginger exports, a 17% increase from the same period in 2022.
Most of Nigeria’s ginger exports go to India, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Germany.
The most annoying part of it is that Nigeria’s ginger farmers don’t earn much from their exports because they don’t have the knowledge and resources to process their ginger into more valuable products like ginger oil, etc, we need
to improve on this.
The demand for ginger in the international market varies depending on the country and region.
In general, however, there is a strong demand for ginger in many countries, particularly in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Here are a few examples to mention:
1. India: India is one of the largest importers of ginger, particularly for use in Ayurvedic medicine and as a spice in Indian cuisine.
2. China: China has a long tradition of using ginger in its cuisine and traditional medicine.
3. Thailand: Thailand is a major importer of ginger, particularly for use in Thai cuisine am strongly this is the best opportunity to Export to this particular country that I mentioned
