Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has been appointed as Africa’s Ambassador for ‘Agricultural Technology’ by the African Agricultural Technology Foundation.
Communication Officer of AATF, Alex Abutu, disclosed this on Friday in a statement made available to Journalists in Kaduna.
Executive Director, of the Foundation, Dr. Canisius Kanangire said, the appointment was due to Jonathan’s track record in championing agricultural transformation on the African continent.
“Dr. Jonathan was able to demonstrate in Nigeria that agriculture should be treated as a business and supported by relevant policies to improve the livelihoods of our growing farming population,” Kanangire said.
In his acceptance of the appointment, Jonathan reiterated his determination to improve food security and transformation across Africa.
