Governor Yusuf Lifts Curfew On Kano

Governor of Kano State, North West Nigeria, has lifted the curfew on Kano.

The development reportedly follows normalcy that gradually returned to the State following the end of the #EndBadGovernance protests across the country.

In a statement on Facebook page of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Monday, his media Aide, Salisu Yahya Hotoro, announced that the State Government is convinced that peace has returned to the city, necessitating the need to lift the curfew.

“The 24 hours curfew slammed on Kano, has been effectively lifted as peace has completely returned to the city,” the statement declared.

Recall that the Kano State Government had declared a 24-hours curfew on the city as a result of violent protests which rocked the City with property worth billions of naira destroyed and looted by hoodlums.

The Governor later reduced the curfew to 6:00 am to 6:00 pm to allow opportunity for business activities. – DP
