Hashim (Dan PDP) Cautious Against Selection Of Executives

As Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has concluded all arrangements to conduct ward, local and states congresses across the country, some party faithfuls have cautioned Kano Party elders against selection of executives as against conduct of free and fair election directed by the national leaders.

The remark was made on behalf of the party members by

Abubakar Hashim (Dan PDP), made the remark on behalf of the party members in an interview with journalists in Kano following rumours making the round that “there will be no more election into the executive offices as some party leaders have alledgedly prepared the lists of those to be anmounced at wards and local government levels.”

“This arrangement defies the provision of the party’s constitution and guidelines that the national party leaders and major stakeholders such as governors have promised not only party members but Nigerians,” he explained.

According to him, all party members interested in any position at whatever level should endevour to participate as being announced by the state caretaker committee of the party that reiterated its position to conduct free and fair congresses in the state.

Hashim, therefore, called on Kano PDP members across the state to dismiss the insinuation of the elders’ alleged prepared list “that will be endorsed by the caretaker committee for onward transmission to national leadership as consensus reached by PDP members in Kano.”

“PDP members in Kano are ready to participate in fair and free congresses, no kangroo arrangement will be accepted because our party remains a democratic party,” he added.

He also solicited for more understanding among PDP members in Kano to make the party stronger ahead of the 2027 national elections.
