Jigawa state Government, North West Nigeria, has honoured the state NUJ Chairman Comrade Ismail Ibrahim Dutse with an award of Security Advocate.
The Award
Our Correspondent reports that the Award is in recognition of the NUJ Chairman’s leadership outstanding committment to train and retrain Journalists in the state on Cybersecurity and digital safety aimed at promoting responsible Journalism and professional ethical conduct “in this era of global digitization.”
Presenting the award to the Chairman on behalf of His Excellency Governor Malam Umar Namadi in Dutse, the state capital, Director General, Jigawa ICT and Digital Economy, Dr Muhammad Hassan described Comrade Ismail Dutse as a champion of Digital knowledge whose Leadership as NUJ Chairman alligned with the greater Jigawa 12 points Agenda of the present administration on ICT and digitization
He congratulated the Chairman and the NUJ for the award which was the first of its kind in the history of the Union’s leadership in the state
.
Also speaking, Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Economy, Malam Murtala Lawan Kazaure, noted with appreciation the significant role NUJ played towards the success of public awarness on cybersecurity and other policies of the state Government
Receiving the award Comrade Ismail Ibrahim Dutse described the gesture as historical and memorable, not just for him but for the entire Jounalists in Jigawa and Nigeria at large.
He assured the people that the NUJ will continue to partner with Governor Malam Umar Namadi,’s administration to ensure the successful implementation of the12 poins Agenda designed to move Jigawa state to the next level of development
